Optical Verlet

About Artwork

Capturing movement and transcribing it into an art installation has always fascinated me. Morphing cloth and shading is the execution, empowering an interaction between a public and an art piece is a goal.

Optical Verlet brings a seamless interface, a connection to a technology to anyone willing to play with it. This unique piece is the result of mixing user inputs and camera feed driven by an optical flow algorithm and a general computing GPU cloth simulation on a 10.000 vertices mesh.

How to interact with Optical Verlet

Desktop

Allow access to camera to enable the artwork to detect your motion, or move mouse if you do not have a camera

Mobile

Touch to move

About Artwork

Capturing movement and transcribing it into an art installation has always fascinated me. Optical Particles brings a seamless interface, a connection to a technology to anyone willing to play with it. Exploring, manipulating, noises, domains of definitions and particles with infinite possibilities of output.

This unique piece is the result of mixing user inputs and camera feed driven by an optical flow algorithm and a general computing GPU simulation on a particle system composed of 65.536 cubes.

How to interact with the Artwork

Desktop: Move mouse to move particles.

Camera: Allow access to camera to enable the artwork to detect your motion

Mobile: Touch to move particles
